Moonshake Studio was founded on the belief that prints and textiles are more than decorative; they are a brand’s visual language. Prints are not simply surface, but art that defines our surroundings through everyday objects and fashion.

We are inspired by artists who bridged art and craft, from William Morris’s decorative vision to Sonia Delaunay’s bold abstraction, and from Sophie Taeuber-Arp’s playful geometry to Gunta Stölzl’s Bauhaus textile innovations. We also draw from the lightness of Matisse, the storytelling of Raoul Dufy, and the expressive abstraction of Helen Frankenthaler.

This lineage informs our work: timeless yet forward-looking, rooted in artistry yet designed for contemporary brands.

Moonshake was founded by Marika Kandelaki, an artist and creative director with over 20 years of experience in print and textile design in New York City. With roots in fine art and fashion, Marika found in textiles the perfect intersection of artistry and utility - a medium where painting and pattern could live in the everyday, woven into collections, garments, and objects.

Her career spans collaborations with both emerging and established brands, shaping collections recognized for their distinctiveness, depth, and a unique balance of creativity and strategy.
